National KIND Teacher Award

Are you a Pre-K-12 classroom teacher who includes humane lessons in the curriculum or inspires students to act on behalf of animals? Do you know a teacher who has done so in an effective, innovative manner? Perhaps you-or one of your colleagues-will become our 2008 National KIND Teacher!

Each year since 1981, Humane Society Youth/the National Association for Humane and Environmental Education has recognized an outstanding teacher who consistently incorporates humane education into his or her curriculum and/or motivates students to get involved in community service for animals. To nominate yourself or another Pre-K-12 teacher for this award, please fill out our online nomination form. The deadline for nominations is February 15, 2008, and the winner will be notified before the end of the 2007-2008 school year.

If selected as National KIND Teacher, you or your nominee will receive a beautiful award; a feature story on Humane Society Youth's Web site; and a packet of grade-appropriate humane education materials.

We look forward to hearing from you!
